Several times a year we have American tournaments, which are extremely popular and provide an excellent afternoons tennis. Everyone gets to rotate partners throughout the afternoon playing around 5 mini-sets. It is up to the individual how competitive they want to be, but it generally turns out to be a fairly light hearted afternoon, with the bonus of possibly winning a bottle of wine at the end of it!
For a more competitive edge we have the annual summer tournament where members can enter a variety of events (singles, doubles, mixed). This normally starts around April and players arrange their own matches. Finals day is in mid July and our dedicated catering team are on hand with refreshments all afternoon.
We also have a series of 'handicap tournaments' throughout the season, which are always well supported and enable members to get even more competitive edged play. Like the summer tournament there are various events across the three singles, doubles and mixed categories.
The social atmosphere of the club extends further than the tennis too. Throughout the year we have several members who dedicate a great deal of time to organising excellent social events.
